Austin Duke, CFA

Austin grew up in Mesa, AZ and has lived in Utah since 2004. After graduating from BYU with a bachelors degree in exercise science in 2007, he went to work in commercial lending with Zions Bank. A love for financial analysis led him to obtain a masters degree in finance at the University of Utah and obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He spent over 5 years as an investment portfolio manager at Keeler Thomas Investment Management and just under 5 years as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones before starting Diamondback Financial. He is happily married with 5 kids, and can often be found at the local Vasa Fitness or Top Golf.

My Why

I believe everyone deserves access to solid financial advice, regardless of how much money they have to invest. Too many advisory firms expect you to meet a certain minimum asset level before they’ll schedule an appointment with you, but not everyone meets that criteria, or even knows how to get their assets up to that level to qualify. Whether you’re a high school teenager working his first job, a newly married couple, a divorced or widowed spouse, a small business owner, etc., everyone needs someone they can talk to and get good ideas about how to structure their finances and invest for the future.
I’ve always been a numbers guy. My parents tell me my favorite Sesame Street character was The Count. Math came easily to me in school, and my entire career has been in the financial industry. Investments, interest rates, etc., simply fascinate me. It’s something that I feel I understand well, and wake up each morning wanting to learn more so I can be better at offering advice. Seeing the sense of relief my clients have as we talk also keeps me going. They are looking to deal with a financial professional who can instill confidence and trust, and I am always up for the challenge.
